Mexican Melodies

Three traditional Mexican melodies, Mexican Hat Dance (Jarabe Tapatio), Carmelia, and Clapping Song (Chiapanecas), are arranged by Shari Pack for one pedal harp and one lever harp together, or two pedal harps.

SKU: H2ME2 Categories: ,

Harp 1 has some tricky pedal changes in Mexican Hat Dance and other pedal changes occasionally throughout the arrangement.  Harp 2, however, has no lever or pedal changes.  The three traditional songs are presented one after another for a nice variety.  Mexican Hat Dance in 6/8 time has a nice toe-tapping rhythm.  Carmelia in 2/4 time has a syncopated accompaniment.  Clapping Song in 3/4 time gives opportunity for sound board knocks. The performance time for Mexican Melodies is about five and a half minutes.

The arrangement comes with separate copies for First Harp and Second Harp and an Ensemble Copy showing the two parts together.
