Description
The four other traditional Hawaiian songs and dances in Hawaiian Melodies are My Heart’s Choice, Paahana-Hula, Violeta, and Maunawili-Hula. The last song, Aloha Oe or Farewell to Thee by Hawaii’s Queen Liliuokalani is very important to the Hawaiian people. It is usually performed to honor those who are leaving the island, and often flower leis and other gifts are brought forward while the music is played. Hawaiian Melodies is in the Key of C and there are no lever or pedal changes. Each harp part takes a turn to play the melodies, and the performance lasts about six and a half minutes.
The arrangement comes with separate copies for First Harp and Second Harp and an Ensemble Copy showing the two parts together.
