In this arrangement of The Skaters Waltz, Harp 1 includes pedal changes in the part and also a glissando at the end that is best prepared with two pedal changes. There are no lever or pedal changes in Harp 2. This delightful waltz has been around since 1882 when Waldteufel first introduced it to describe the graceful swirling of skaters. Each part has arpeggios and melody, and there is a dramatic “ritardando” at measure 51, returning to “a tempo” at measure 52, after the page turn. The performance of this arrangement takes a little over three minutes.
The arrangement comes with separate copies for First Harp and Second Harp and an Ensemble Copy showing the two parts together.
