Description
Thanksgiving Day is an arrangement of a Dutch hymn which was sung to celebrate the victory of Dutch forces in 1597 and a folk song was used for the tune. We Gather Together has now become a traditional song in America, sung at family meals and religious services, expressing gratitude at Thanksgiving.
This arrangement can be played by lever harps as well as pedal harps. The first harp plays interesting accompaniment arpeggio patterns as a descant, as well as chordal melody. The second harp often renders the melody in octaves, and also has unique accompaniments that are enjoyable to hear and to play.
