Description
Sylvia, la nymphe de Diane is a full length ballet written by Leo Delibes in 1876. The music is especially outstanding and Tchaikovsky is quoted as saying, “What charm, what elegance, what richness of melody, rhythm, and harmony.” Harp 1 and Harp 2 are best played on pedal harps. Harp 3 can be played on a lever harp as well as a pedal harp, with four lever or pedal changes. An elegant arpeggio melody is played first by Harp 1, and then by Harp 3, and then back and forth, until it passes to Harp 2. The performance time for Sylvia’s Waltz is about four minutes.
The arrangement comes with separate copies for First Harp, Second Harp, and Third Harp and an Ensemble Copy showing the three parts together.
