Description
In this arrangement of On Wings of Music, each pedal harp part takes a turn to play the melody or to play the beautiful arpeggio accompaniment. When Mendelssohn wrote the music to this song, he was inspired by the words of Heinrich Heine, the German Romantic poet, and we can hear musically the gentle breeze as the lovers soar through utopia; and the wings that stir the lover’s souls are described through upward moving arpeggios and a memorable melody. The performance time for On Wings of Music is about three and a half minutes. A four harp arrangement of this famous melody, and titled On Wings of Song, is available in Four Harps Together.
The arrangement comes with separate copies for First Harp and Second Harp and an Ensemble Copy showing the two parts together.
