Description
In the opera Thais by Jules Massenet, this famous orchestral intermezzo is performed between the scenes in the second act. There, it describes musically a time of reflection; where Thais, a beautiful courtesan, is persuaded to leave her life of luxury and pleasure and find salvation through God. In this arrangement Harp 2 can be played by a lever harp as well as a pedal harp. Harps 1 and 3 require pedal harps. The performance time for Meditation Intermezzo is four and a half minutes. It is also available in Two Harps TogetherL see Meditation.
The arrangement comes with separate copies for First Harp, Second Harp, and Third Harp and an Ensemble Copy showing the three parts together.
